My Son...

When I look into my son's eyes I see myself.

Even when his behavior is less than stellar I find it impossible to discard him or disown him. In those times where a corrective "action" (lol) is appropriate, it is more of a punsishmement for me to see his sadness though I realize it is temporary.

Have you ever heard anyone begin a sentence with "if he/she were mine I would"?

Ever heard that voice with a timbre completely devoid of grace?

When God sees us He sees the ones He made in His image. Looking through the blood of His son Jesus, it is as if He is wearing "love goggles" that do not allow Him to see the stain of our mistakes but rather the purity of Jesus. Though at times He may discipline us and we feel temporary sadness He only takes the time to discipline us because WE ARE HIS SONS.

Never giving the punishment that we really deserve for our wrongs, instead He lovingly places us back on the correct path. The way He loves us is through grace. It's a mystery.
