In John chapter 17 we see an example of Godly unity. This unity promotes belief in Jesus, that He was sent by the Father, loved by the Father and that we would be with/in communion with Jesus. In contrast we see in the 11th chapter of Genesis a juxtaposition of Godly unity is replaced by unity for man’s agenda(s). When God said to subdue the earth and have dominion this would have included spreading out to other places. Man’s agenda demanded in chapter 11 to not to obey God but instead said, “let’s make a name for ourselves.”
We have the ability to promote Godly unity by taking Jesus everywhere we go and include Him in all things. Many think this is always an overt operation but it is also in the quiet moments of service to others, kind words of encouragement, solid business practices and the intentional imagery of our everyday lives.
